Jackson JS20 Dinky

The Jackson JS20 Dinky is an entry level guitar and is one of Jackson’s JS Series guitars that are manufactured in India. These are great guitars for the beginner or intermediate player mainly because of the low cost. It features a North-American hard maple neck with real Indian rosewood fretboard.

The body of the guitar is made of Indian Cedro. Cedro is Cedar in Portuguese and Spanish. Cedar wood is scented, and has an attractive color and grain. On top of the body is a flame maple veneer which is visible with the transparent colors. It’s available in solid and metallic finishes which include Black, Dark Metallic Blue, Dark Metallic Red, Transparent Blue, and Transparent Red. You can see the flamed maple on the transparent colors. The bridge is a 2-point fulcrum type of tremolo (whammy bar).

The 25.5 inch scale length bolt-on neck is made of Maple and has 22 Jumbo Frets. The radius of the neck is very flat at 12 inches. This neck is made for lead playing and has a great feel to it. The fretboard is made of rosewood with MOTO dot position markers. The tuners are die-cast types sealed and very decent.

The pickups and electronics consist of a Jackson JE10 humbucker and two Jackson JE14 single coils all of which have been designed by Seymour Duncan. The pickups are placed in the body in the H/S/S (Humbucker/Single/Single) configuration. There are two control knobs a master volume and master tone control. There’s also a 5-way pickup selector allows selecting between the three pickups:

With the Humbucker you can get a much hotter, crunchy sound that’s great for heavy metal sounds while with the single coils you can get a more Strat like sound.
